In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy

Glorified art Thou, O my God! I and all things bear witness that there is none other God but Thee, alone with no partner. Thine is the Kingdom and the Dominion, Thine the Might and the Omnipotence, Thine the Power and the Divinity, Thine the Strength and the Glory, Thine the Sovereignty and the Realm of Man, Thine the Grandeur and the Majesty, Thine the Countenance and the Perfection, Thine the Direction and the Beauty, Thine the Mercy and the Grace, Thine the Awe and the Justice, Thine the Archetypes and the Examples, Thine the Stations and the Exaltation, Thine the Power and the Action, Thine the Joy and the Utterance, Thine the Might and the Inaccessibility, Thine the Loftiness and the Elevation, Thine the Gladness and the Delight, Thine the Love and the Detachment, Thine the Greatness and the Pride.

Thine is whatsoever Thou hast loved among that which Thou hast created or wilt create, having no equal, no peer, no likeness, no companion, and no similitude. Thou hast ever been the One God, Single, Eternal, Self-Subsisting, Living, the Self-Sustaining, the Sovereign, the All-Encompassing, the Holy, the All-Glorious, the Most Sublime, the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Great, the Most Luminous, the Most Exalted, the Peerless, the All-Powerful, the Supreme, the Sovereign, the All-Knowing, the Manifest, the Hidden, the Most High, the Inaccessible.

Hallowed are Thy names in their pristine purity, and exalted are Thine examples in their essence. Thou dost ever give life and cause to die, then cause to die and give life. Verily, Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not, the King Who passeth not away, the Just Who wrongeth not, the Sovereign Who changeth not, the Unique from Whose grasp nothing escapeth, whether in the heavens or on the earth or between them. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command. Verily, Thou art powerful over all things.

Glorified art Thou beyond my praise of Thee, exalted art Thou beyond my hallowing Thee, sublime art Thou beyond my proclaiming Thy unity, magnified art Thou beyond my extolling Thee, and mighty art Thou beyond my glorifying Thee. All are Thy servants and within Thy grasp. Everything prostrateth before Thee, everything sanctifieth Thee, everything proclaimeth Thy unity, everything magnifieth Thee, everything glorifieth Thee, everything exalteth Thee, and everything is detached unto Thee.

Thou art the Ever-Existing Who hath never ceased to be and will never cease to be, the Being in the eternity of eternities, the Creator of all that Thou hast created through Thy acts, the Essential Being in the kingdom of might and majesty, the One manifest at the pinnacle of holiness and beauty. I shall glorify Thee beyond all that hath sanctified Thee or will sanctify Thee, and I shall sanctify Thee beyond all that hath glorified Thee or will glorify Thee, and I shall proclaim Thy unity as befitteth Thee, and I shall magnify Thee above all that hath magnified Thee or will magnify Thee, and I shall exalt Thee above all that hath exalted Thee or will exalt Thee.

Exalted is the sublimity of Thy Essence, hallowed is the inaccessibility of Thy Being, elevated is the loftiness of Thy Self, unapproachable is the remoteness of Thine Eternity, and transcendent is the radiance of the light of Thine Identity. Thou art more glorious than the glory of all glorious things in their essence, more majestic than the majesty of all majestic things in their abstraction, more beautiful than the beauty of all beautiful things in their reality, greater than the greatness of all great things in their essence, more luminous than the light of all luminous things in their purity, more exalted than the exaltation of all exalted things in their height, mightier than the might of all mighty things in their elevation, more knowing than the knowledge of all knowing things in their comprehension, more powerful than the power of all powerful things in their reach, nobler than the nobility of all noble things in their ascent, more sovereign than the sovereignty of all sovereign things in their dominion, higher than the height of all high things in their essence, more ancient than the antiquity of all ancient things in their precedence, more generous than the generosity of all generous things in their primacy, more manifest than the manifestation of all manifest things in their appearance, and more hidden than the concealment of all hidden things in their concealment.

For all besides Thee are Thy creation, O my God, and within Thy grasp. I therefore bear witness that there is none other God but Thee, purely, sincerely, with certainty and steadfastness, testifying to all that Thou hast created and brought into being, and that verily the One of the Seven Letters is Thy servant upon whom Thou hast sent down Thy verses and through whom Thou didst manifest whatsoever Thou didst desire of Thy decree. Glorified art Thou! There is no God but Thee. When I gazed upon the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them, I beheld not on the Day of Resurrection any essence that could behold Thee with Thine eye save that Word. Therefore didst Thou look upon it with Thine eye, and since there existed not in Thy creation anything more glorious than what was mentioned aforetime in the Furqan, Thou didst raise it from its resting-place, it being such that it pointed to none other than Thee.

Therefore, O my God, do Thou send down upon it from its father and its children that which shall solace its eyes. Do Thou, O my God, clothe it in the garment of sorrow for its father and its children, and do Thou, O my God, exalt it through Thy exaltation, that thereby the eyes of Thy beloved in the Ridvan and the eyes of Thy martyrs in the Bayan may be consoled. How sublime is Thy manifestation unto it through itself, for it beheld none other than Thee possessed of bounty, nor any besides Thee possessed of authority. How lofty is that elevation, and how glorious is that sublimity in Thy sight, for Thou didst create all things for Thy knowledge, and whoso knoweth Thee and then recognizeth Thy commandments and desireth naught save what Thou hast desired, him hast Thou raised to the most exalted summit possible and conducted him to the uttermost height of glory Thou hast bestowed.

How pure is that mirror which spoke in remembrance of the Primary Letters before they were sent down from Thy presence, and bore witness to the Day of Resurrection before it was made manifest from Thy court. This was naught but through Thy grace and bounty, Thy generosity and kindness and favor unto whomsoever Thou willest among Thy creation. Therefore, O my God, do Thou ordain for it that which shall sever it from every sorrow and conduct it unto all that Thou lovest and approvest, for verily nothing escapeth Thy knowledge, whether in the heavens or on the earth or between them, nor doth anything elude Thee, whether in the kingdom of Command or of Creation or what lieth beneath them. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command. Verily, Thou art powerful over all things.

I bear witness that Thou didst create naught save for what Thou didst reveal aforetime in Thy Book, wherein Thou didst say—and Thy word is the truth—“God is He Who raised up the heavens without pillars that ye can see; then He established Himself on the throne of authority and compelled the sun and the moon to serve, each moving for an appointed term; He ordereth all things; He showeth His signs clearly, that ye may have a firm faith in the meeting with your Lord.” Therefore, O my God, do Thou inspire it with that which shall establish its heart in Thy knowledge, Thy love, Thy good-pleasure, Thy glory, the exaltation of Thy religion and Thy Word, for Thou didst create naught save for this purpose. And do Thou show it, O my God, through Thy power, such recompense for what it hath witnessed in Thy path as shall satisfy it of Thy bounty and grace in the heights of Thy might and the summit of Thy sanctity.

O God! Send Thy blessings upon Him Whom Thou shalt make manifest on the Day of Resurrection with all of Thy glory that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy majesty that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy beauty that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy grandeur that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy light that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy good-pleasure that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy mercy that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy words that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy names that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy might that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy will that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy knowledge that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy power that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy utterance that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy sovereignty that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy dominion that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy loftiness that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy favor that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge; then with all of Thy signs that Thou hast encompassed in knowledge.

For verily Thou didst create the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them for the Manifestation of Thy Self on the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, O my God, bestow upon the Manifestation of Thy Self after that Resurrection, for which Thou didst create the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them, every good thing that hath no equal, no peer, no likeness, no associate and no similitude. For verily Thou makest Thyself known in every Revelation only through what Thou wilt make known thereafter, although Thou hast ever been and wilt ever be unchanging and unfading. Exalted be Thy glory! Thou hast taken unto Thyself neither consort nor son, and Thou hast no partner in what Thou hast created, nor any protector in what Thou hast fashioned. Thou hast ordained all things by Thy power with perfect ordainment, and Thou hast formed all things by the light of Thy countenance with perfect formation.

But since Thou hast ordained for creation an exaltation in the life to come and a preparation for the glances of the lights of Thy countenance in the Most Glorious Paradise after the first life, therefore dost Thou manifest the excellence of Thy bounty in all that through which Thou revealest Thyself thereafter, more exalted than what Thou didst reveal before, even as hath been Thy way from that beginning which hath no beginning unto the origin of Thy creation, and from the origin of Thy creation unto this day, and such shall it ever be.

Therefore, O my God, train all who are in the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them for the day of Thy manifestation, in such wise that when the Manifestation of Thy Self reciteth a verse from Thee, all shall say:

“Yea! Glory be unto Thee! There is no God but Thee! Verily, all are assured of that which God had promised aforetime in the Bayan.”

For beyond this Thou hast not ordained any paradise for Thy creation, nor destined any bounty for Thy servants. Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! Thou art one God, single, peerless, Ever-Living, Self-Subsisting. Thou hast taken unto Thyself neither consort nor son, and Thou art the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful, the Almighty.
