In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy
Glorified art Thou, O my God! I testify before Thee and all things that Thou art God, there is no God but Thee, alone with no partner. Thine is the dominion and the kingdom, Thine the might and the power, Thine the force and the divinity, Thine the strength and sovereignty, Thine the rule and the human realm, Thine the glory and the majesty, Thine the countenance and the beauty, Thine the power and perfection, Thine the grandeur and independence, Thine the mercy and grace, Thine the authority and justice, Thine the likeness and similitudes, Thine the glory and sublimity, Thine the might and the impossible, Thine the victory and joy, Thine the glory and inaccessibility, Thine the power and exaltation, Thine the gladness and delight, Thine the greatness and grandeur, Thine the bounty and blessing, Thine the proofs and examples. Nothing can prevail against Thee.
O my God! Thou hast placed in all things a sign of Thy love. Is there anything that is not Thine, that Thou hast not created by Thy will? All things abide under Thy shadow and speak of what is within Thee. Thou wert before all things, Thou art after all things, Thou art the Being after the passing of all things. Thou art exalted above all things, Thou art inaccessible beyond all things, Thou art elevated above horizons, Thou art triumphant over all things, Thou art manifest over all things. Thou art He Who hath no equal, no likeness, no peer, no companion, no similitude. The heavens and all within them, the earth and all upon it, are Thine alone. There is no God but Thee. All glorify Thee according to Thy creation, all sanctify Thee according to Thy invention, all unite in Thy oneness according to Thy bringing forth, all magnify Thee according to Thy origination, all extol Thee according to Thy power. O Thou Whose proof prevaileth over all contingent things, Whose Word is manifest above all in the kingdoms of earth and heaven! O Thou Who hath ascended by Thy loftiness above all that is lofty, Who hath been adorned by Thy radiance above all that is exalted!
Thou art He Who hath ever been without the existence of anything, and Thou art He Who will ever be without mention of anything. Sanctified are all Thy names, wherein naught is seen but Thee, and magnified are all Thy examples, which indicate none but Thee. Glorified art Thou, O my God! Send down at this moment from the repositories of the mysteries of Thy creation and the dawning-places of the might of Thy invention that which will assist and exalt Thy friends and take vengeance on Thy enemies. Thou art the most powerful of the powerful. Nothing in the heavens or earth or what lieth between them can frustrate Thee. Thou art the most great of the great. Nothing in the heavens or earth or what lieth between them can fail to prostrate before Thee.
I beseech Thee by Thy Being, Thy Essence, Thy Pristine Nature, Thy Camphor-like Nature, Thy Substance, Thy Abstraction, Thy Identity and Thy Self, to send down every good thing upon the Tree of the Bayan and all therein of the manifestations of Thy love, and to send down Thy vengeance upon what is other than the tree of Thy love. I see, by Thy might, how those in Paradise delight in Thy remembrance while those in the fire are tormented by their separation from Thy Self. In every condition this state is manifest to those who profess Thy unity and hidden to those who glorify Thee.
From the day Thou didst create the Paradise of the Qur’an, all who entered it were in Thy Paradise while all who waxed proud against it were in Thy fire. Then when Thou didst send down the Bayan, all who entered it according to what Thou didst reveal therein from Thy presence, these entered Thy Paradise and delighted in the radiance of Thy countenance, while those who were veiled entered the fire and are tormented therein. Therefore, O my God, deliver all things from every fire and cause all things to enter every light, for none but Thee can do this. Though Thou causest none to enter Paradise save those who believe in Thee and Thy verses and acknowledge the Manifestations of Thy Self and Thy chosen ones, and Thou causest to enter the fire those who are veiled from Thy Manifestation or believe not in Thy verses or follow not the Manifestations of Thy Self and Thy chosen ones—for Thou hast created no Paradise greater than obedience to Thee for those who obey Thee, and no fire more intense than for those who are veiled from Thy good-pleasure or desire not to obey Thee.
All desire to obey Thee but are veiled by that to which their souls pay no heed, even though at the moment of their being veiled thereby Thy proof is complete against them and Thy favor perfected concerning them. Therefore cause those who have entered the Bayan not to be veiled thereby from the Manifestation of Thy Self on the Day of Resurrection, nor by anything Thou hast revealed therein. For all who are veiled are veiled by what Thou didst ordain before. Therefore have mercy, O my God, upon those who profess Thy unity, that they may follow Thy Manifestation on the Day of Resurrection and not be veiled by the manifestation before it, for all are from Thee and Thou art the All-Knowing, the Wondrous.
