O my God! Grant me complete detachment unto Thee and shine upon me at the gate of Thy inaccessibility, until the light of Thy beauty rends asunder the veils and the individualities are joined to the seat of Thy might. There I say: Thou art, Thou art! O God, Thou hast ever been Thou art, O God, Thou wilt ever be Thou art. O God, how manifest is my saying “Thou art,” and my secret “Thou art,” and my outward state “Thou art,” and my words “Thou art.”

I know not, O my God, how people deny me after they know that I have said “Thou art, Thou art” with my inner being and heart and mind and spirit and soul and blood and veins and bones and marrow and body and outward state, according to the number of letters of Thy unity. Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! They have no authority nor judgment in their denial of me, for nothing remains in my inner being save Thy countenance whereby Thou didst manifest Thyself on Mount Paran, nor in my outward state save Thy concealment which is hidden by the loftiness of its manifestation from the vision of the Bayan. Glory be unto Thee! Nay, by Thy might, I have no fear if Thou givest me life, and therefore Thou hast inspired me that I say: Verily Thou art, Thou art my beauty, and verily Thou art, Thou art my glory, and verily Thou art, Thou art my splendor, and verily Thou art, Thou art my speech, and verily Thou art, Thou art my station, and verily Thou art, Thou art my exposition.

Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! All relationships return unto me like the mention of the Ka’bih, the Sacred House, and all geometry is cut off from Thee like the Sacred Monument and the Station. Glory be unto Thee, O my God! Thy majesty hath transcended the majesty of all things and Thy loftiness hath risen above the loftiness of all things. Thou art the Exalted; Thou hast ever been, and all else is abased. Thou art the Most Exalted; Thou wilt ever be, and all else is poor.

Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! If I say “Thou art, Thou art,” all creation denies me, saying “Thou art, thou art a servant; how dost thou attribute to thy Lord the I-ness of thyself?” I know not, O my God, how to praise Thee that my heart might be emptied of the might of Thy justice and my outward state might be gladdened by witnessing the beauty of attaining unto Thee. For whenever I commune with Thee with a sign of nearness, a sign of power distances me and makes me as a thing forgotten. And whenever the sun of Thy love shines from the right horizon and I call upon Thee with the essence of everything from every deep valley, in that very moment it sets from the loftiness of Thine essence, unto which nothing can attain, as though it had never risen in any state.

Alas, alas for what my soul hath earned before the city of Thy might and for what Thy Book recordeth before the city of Thy knowledge! Glory be unto Thee! Glory be unto Thee! Thou knowest my purpose in all that I have attributed unto Thee, like the Ka’bih, Thy Sacred House. Otherwise, Thou wert knowing when naught else was mentioned besides Thee, and Thou wert powerful when naught else existed besides Thee. And now, O my God, Thou art as Thou wert in the eternity of eternities and will ever be, and Thou art as Thou wert in the primal beginning. There is no God but Thee, sufficient art Thou unto me in every state, and there is no power nor strength in any state save through Thee alone, Who hath no partner.

Glory be unto Thee, O my God, above what the speakers say before the throne of Thy sovereignty! I beseech Thee, O God, to bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and to open unto us the gates of Thy victory and Thy manifestation, and to confirm us with Thy divine fragrances and favors, and to aid us against the oppressors through Thy might and Thy power. Verily Thou art God, the Lord of all worlds. Glory be to God, the Lord of the Throne, above what they describe! Peace be upon the Messengers, and praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds.
