BB00533: Letter to the first pillar (tasbih)

Glorified art Thou, O my God! Preserve, then, these four Manifestations through Thyself, with a mighty preserving.

In the Name of God, the All-Holy.

Glorified be He Who hath created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them by His command—nigh unto the point that ere He saith “Be,” it is. Glorified be He before Whom bow down all that are in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them. Say: All are submissive unto Him. Glorified be He Whom all that are in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them glorify. Say: All prostrate themselves before Him.

Therefore glorify ye God, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them; and praise Him; and affirm His oneness; and thank Him; and extol Him; and magnify Him; and aid Him; and prostrate yourselves before Him at every moment, before every moment, and after every moment.

God’s is whatsoever is in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them; and God hath power over all things. His is the primal origination of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them; and God is the Knower of all things. God’s are power and might, and dominion and grandeur, and exaltation and sovereignty, and awe and irresistible majesty, and mercy and love, and splendour and majesty, and radiance and loftiness, and light and bounties. He ordaineth as He willeth by His command; verily He is a Sovereign, all-compelling, most great.

God’s is whatsoever is in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them; and God is a Sovereign, self-sufficient. God hath ordained for him who is able, and who possesseth the means, that he inscribe “Glorified be God” [subhanu’llah] upon a diamond of incomparable worth. And that he shall, with his own hands, convey it unto Him Who shall arise at the bidding of his Lord, on the Day when He shall appear with the sovereignty of a mighty Truth.
