BB00258: Ziyarat for the sixth to be martyred among the Letters of the Living
In the name of God, the Most Inaccessible, the Most Holy
Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou art the Creator of the heavens and earth, the Knower of the unseen and the visible. From eternity Thou hast, through Thine Essence, been exalted above all contingent things, and wilt forever, through Thy dominion, be elevated above all created things. In every condition Thou hast, through Thy power, been supreme over all who dwell in the kingdoms of earth and heaven, and at all times Thou hast, through Thy majesty, held sway over all existence. In every circumstance wherein a thing is mentioned, Thou hast, through Thy Self-Sufficiency, been exalted above all that exists in the kingdom of names and attributes. Thou art the Most High, Whose glory and riches can never decline, and Thou art the Most Exalted, Whose might and permanence can never be altered. I testify, and all things testify, that Thou art God, there is no God but Thee, the Lord of might and majesty, of greatness and beauty, of power and independence, of sovereignty and bounty, of grandeur and perfection.
From eternity all things have glorified Thee, sanctified Thee, unified Thee, magnified Thee and extolled Thee. When wert Thou ever absent that nothing could behold Thee? When wert Thou ever hidden that nothing could witness Thee? Thou art the Manifest through Whose manifestation all are veiled, and Thou art the Hidden through Whose concealment all are made manifest.
Glorified art Thou, O Lord! Thou hast ever been one God, single, eternal, self-subsisting, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Thou hast taken neither consort nor offspring, and Thou hast created nothing except that Thou hast made it bear witness to Thy oneness and that Thou hast no partner in sovereignty nor any protector on earth save by Thy leave. Thou hast ordained all things by Thy power and fashioned all creation by Thy wisdom. Thou hast ever been exalted above all loftiness and glory, and wilt ever be transcendent above all elevation and deed.
How can I make mention of Thee, O my God and my Beloved, after Thou hast shown me that the paths of all contingent things, in their very essence, are cut off from knowing Thy reality, and the most profound realities, in their inmost being, are prevented from knowing Thy sanctity? Therefore, O Lord, send down upon this Fruit that hath sprouted from the Tree of Thy oneness the most excellent of all that Thou hast created or wilt create: the most resplendent of all Thy glory, the most sublime of all Thy majesty, the most beautiful of all Thy beauty, the most magnificent of all Thy grandeur, the most luminous of all Thy light, the most extensive of all Thy mercy, the most perfect of all Thy words, the most complete of all Thy perfections, the greatest of all Thy names, the most mighty of all Thy power, the most conclusive of all Thy will, the most penetrating of all Thy knowledge, the most far-reaching of all Thy might, the most pleasing of all Thy utterance, the most beloved and inaccessible of all Thy causes, the noblest of all Thy honor, the most enduring of all Thy dominion, the most glorious of all Thy sovereignty, the most exalted of all Thy transcendence, the most effulgent of all Thy radiance, the most ancient of all Thy favors, the most wondrous of all Thy signs, the most excellent of all Thy grace, the most elevated of all Thy gifts, the most generous of all Thy bounty, the nearest of all Thy vastness, the most uplifted of all Thy elevation, and the most impregnable of all Thy protection.
O Lord! Purify all the letters in it, upon it and before it. Send down upon it, O Lord, that which will cause it to ascend to the supreme horizon and attain the Most Glorious Summit, for unto Thee belong the Last and the First. Seize, O Lord, with all Thy might, those who recognize not His right in Thee and who bow not before His majesty, and send down upon him, by Thy Name, the severest of Thy chastisements and the swiftest of Thy seizures. Verily Thou art powerful, mighty and omnipotent. There is no power nor strength except through Thee, and verily Thou art witness over all things. Thou recompenseth every soul according to what it hath earned, and verily Thou art the observer of all things. Thine is the creation and the command, both before and after, and unto Thee is the final return.
Then turn unto Him Who is established upon the throne of His might and hath taken His seat upon the seat of His supreme power, and say: Verily We are the Most Glorious Beauty from God, the Most Beautiful Names, and whatsoever God hath attributed unto Himself in the hereafter and from eternity in His Most Exalted Remembrance. Upon thee, O Tree of Blessedness, Lote-Tree of the Furthermost Boundary, Garden of Refuge, Most Glorious Horizon and Most Exalted Station at the distance of two bow-lengths or closer! I testify that Thou hast manifested, through what Thou hast endured in Thy Lord’s path, His glorification, His praise, His oneness and His grandeur, according to what God hath created in Thee of the sublimity of His power and the exaltation of His might.
How transcendent is Thy right over all created things, and how magnificent is Thy station amidst the depths of Names and Attributes! Thou hast attained unto that which none comprehendeth save whom God willeth. May God unite me with Thee, then with him who hath believed in Him, in the most exalted horizon with Him, for verily He is the Lord of the hereafter and of the former days. God shall destroy all who bow down before God through Thee yet recognize not Thy right with Him, and who have shown pride against Thee to the extent of a mustard seed, through His power, might, strength, sovereignty and grandeur. Verily, He hath power over all things. We are God’s and unto Him shall we return. There is no power nor strength except through God, the Most High, the Most Great.
Praise be to God, before Whom prostrate themselves whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on earth and whatsoever is between them. He hath taken unto Himself neither consort nor son, nor hath He any partner in sovereignty. He giveth life and causeth death, then causeth death and giveth life, and verily He is the Ever-Living Who dieth not. Within His grasp is the kingdom of all things. He createth what He pleaseth by His command. Therefore glorify ye Him, magnify ye Him, strengthen ye Him, sanctify ye Him, and extol ye Him with great exaltation, honor ye Him, exalt ye Him, and praise ye Him with supreme praise.
