BB00389: Ziyarat for the last [to believe]
The Glory from God be upon thee, O Essence of Glory; and the Majesty be upon thee, O Essence of Majesty; and the Beauty be upon thee, O Essence of Beauty; and the Grandeur be upon thee, O Essence of Grandeur; and the Light be upon thee, O Essence of Light; and the Mercy be upon thee, O Essence of Mercy; and the Words be upon thee, O Essence of the Words; and the Names be upon thee, O Essence of the Names; and the Might be upon thee, O Essence of Might; and the Knowledge be upon thee, O Essence of Knowledge; and the Strength be upon thee, O Essence of Strength; and the Power be upon thee, O Essence of Power; and the Utterance be upon thee, O Essence of Utterance—and the good-pleasure; and the Love be upon thee, O Essence of Love—and the exaltation; and the Honor be upon thee, O Essence of Honor, in this world and in the world to come; and the Sovereignty be upon thee, O Essence of Sovereignty, in the Kingdom of the Most High, unto the first atom; and the Dominion be upon thee, O Essence of Dominion, in the Most Great Horizon; and the Loftiness be upon thee, O Essence of Loftiness, in every mighty verse.
Therefore do I bear witness that there is none other God but He. His are the most beauteous names. All that are in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them glorify Him; and all that dwell in the kingdoms of command and creation and whatsoever is beneath them bow down before Him. There is none other God but He, the Mighty, the Well-Beloved.
And I testify that all the essences of whatsoever appeared through Muhammad, the Messenger of God—of realities and inner beings, of souls and selves, of guardianship, of prayer, of alms, of pilgrimage, of fasting, and of whatsoever was revealed in the Book—have returned unto thee in their glory and their inmost substance, according to the knowledge of the Inmost of the Inmost, from God, the Manifest of the Manifest.
How exalted is thy loftiness and thy unapproachableness! How resplendent thy sublimity and thy joy! How great thy lowliness before God, and how near thy awe before God! All are worshippers of God by virtue of thy countenance, and all are prostrate before God through thy direction.
And those who have wrought against thee what they have wrought have not worshipped God for the twinkling of an eye, nor have they affirmed His unity even less than that. What their hands have earned—God hath created no fire more grievous than this, wherewith they shall take vengeance upon their own selves against their own selves, whence they perceive not. Therefore do they curse their own selves by names that were revealed before, yet they know not; for thou art the Known One in the heavens and on the earth, and the Described One among all realities. There is nothing that glorifieth God but it descendeth unto thy threshold; nothing that affirmeth His oneness but it standeth before the court of thy might; nothing that magnifieth God but it is uplifted by the loftiness of thy Cause.
And verily thou art the last letter of the Letters of the One; thou shalt assuredly believe in Him Whom God shall make manifest. He hath mentioned thee by these words in the manifestation that preceded thee, and hath raised thee by those manifestations above all that are. He it is unto Whom all the Bayan returneth, and from Whose presence God bringeth into being whatsoever He willeth in the realm of existence. Through Him doth He hold back the heaven lest it fall upon the earth, and through Him doth everything subsist.
No servant that hath worshipped God throughout all worlds, and yet hath not believed in Him, hath truly worshipped God for the twinkling of an eye. And no servant that hath been veiled from God throughout all worlds, yet hath believed in Him, is as though he had been veiled in any world. But God hath refused to admit into the paradise of His recognition any save the guides of His Names and the likenesses thereof. Though all who are in the Bayan should be prostrate before God by Him, and worshippers of God by His Face, yet none shall attain unto His love and recognition save the purified—those who behold in Him naught but God, and who are assured of meeting Him.
Otherwise, every soul would fain enter His paradise; for God hath created all things for that end. Yet because of the veils men set between themselves and Him, they are unable thereafter. Mighty is His glory and exalted His loftiness! He desireth that there be no soul upon earth save that it believe in Him and in His verses, and prostrate itself at His Gate—for the first that believed in Him are the essences in the Bayan and the immaterial ones in the Bayan. Upon Him, and upon all who follow the guidance He hath bestowed, be every bounty from God in the Most High Horizon—then in the world to come and in this world—aye, even in the nearness of nearnesses.
His visitation—what tongue can number? God alone can reckon it. And He loveth and is well-pleased: upon him be the glory of God.
