The prayer of Musa ibn Ja’far, peace be upon him

Glory be to Thee, O my God! Thou art the One Who illumineth all things with Thy light and draweth all things through the glances of Thy nearness. I beseech Thee, by the manifestations of the glory of Thy divine Unity, the revelations of the sanctity of Thy divine Oneness, and the wondrous lights of the holy kingdom of Thy grandeur, that Thou send Thy blessings upon Thy trusted one, Musa ibn Ja’far, Thy proof whom Thou hast made the manifestation of Thy splendor, Thy majesty, Thy beauty, Thy greatness, Thy light, Thy mercy, Thy words, Thy perfection, Thy names, Thy might, Thy will, Thy purpose, Thy decree, Thy permission, Thy term, Thy Book, Thy knowledge, Thy power, Thy strength, Thy station, Thy honor, Thy sovereignty, Thy dominion, Thy exaltation, Thy grace, Thy signs, Thy bounty and Thy examples. For verily Thou, O my God, knowest all things, hast power to create all things, and dost witness the creation of all things.

Therefore, O my God, send down upon Thy proof from every good its swiftest portion, from every grace its most excellent part, from every generosity its nearest measure, from every mercy its most expansive measure, and from all that Thou hast specially reserved for Thyself its highest and most protected portion with Thee. And cause, O my God, his body to be content with Thee alone, there is no god but Thee, his soul with Thy Prophet, his spirit with the Imams who are the successors of Thy Beloved, his self with the best of Thy trusted ones, and the Imams after him who are Thy witnesses over the people of Thy kingdom, and his heart with the pillars of Thy House. For verily Thou art the First in the first, the Last in the second, the Manifest in the third, and the Hidden in the fourth. Thy firstness is none other than the essence of Thy hiddenness, and Thy lastness is none other than the essence of Thy manifestness, for the Manifestations have shone forth with the lights of the mantles of Thy revelation as Thou willest, through what Thou willest.

Therefore, O my God, bless Thy trusted one with the most excellent blessings Thou hast ever bestowed upon any of Thy trusted ones, and the nearest bounties Thou hast ever sent down upon any of Thy chosen ones. And gladden, O my God, his eyes with what Thou lovest and art pleased with, and above pleasure, and above above pleasure, unto the uttermost height of the highest pavilion, for Thou art the Lord of the Last and the First. I beseech Thee by all Thy grace and mercy that Thou send down upon Thy trusted one according to the measure of Thy grace and mercy, for Thou art the Lord of all the worlds.
