In the name of God, the Most Inspiring, the Most Inspiring

Praise be to God, besides Whom there is no God, the Most Inspiring, the Most Inspiring! And verily the glory from God be upon the First Unity and upon him who resembleth that Unity wherein naught is seen save the First Unity.

And further, I testify that the inspiration of God shall never be cut off from any soul, be it through the outward creation of the horizons or the inward creation of the souls. And the latter is made manifest through the former. And verily in that Resurrection God hath manifested the Tree of Truth from the lineage of merchants, then made manifest His Cause through the learned and the rulers, and above these two.

If thou desirest God to deliver thee on the Day of Resurrection in the Gate, then make thy mention the mention of five: First “O Wealthy One,” then “O All-Knowing,” then “O Ruler,” then “O Powerful One,” then “O Sovereign.” For whoso entereth the Gate, God hath ordained that he shall verily prevail over all things through the proof of his Lord, even as thou seest in that Day anyone from the dwellers of that Ha’ and the dawning-places of that Vav prevailing through the verses of God over all things. For that is the victory of Truth through Truth, and the inspirational emanations from the Lord unto the servant.

Therefore hold fast to the pentagonal form, the human temple whose outward form is Ha’ and whose inner reality is Vav-Qaf. This is the Most Great Name and the Most Noble Design whereby all turn unto God their Lord, and whereby all begin from God their Lord, and whereby all worship God their Lord. And whatsoever thou seest in all the circles [dawa’ir] [and] temples [hayakil] is the mention of Him Whom God shall make manifest, exalted be His mention.

And verily on the day of His manifestation, that which returneth unto Him is of the temples of truth and the circles of glory, and that which returneth not unto Him—its fruit of existence hath indeed been wasted. And verily I seek refuge for all who are in the Bayan lest they waste the fruits of their existence on the day of the manifestation of their Lord.

O people of the Bayan! Be ye God-fearing on that Day! And if thou desirest enrichment, then mention these names—the nine names after the ten—each day, each one a hundred and five times. And verily this is the law: O Generous One! O Bestower! O Benevolent One! O Bountiful One! O Munificent One! O Compassionate One! O Beneficent One! O Enricher! O All-Embracing One! O All-Knowing! O Benefactor! O Giver! O Tender One! O Gracious One! O Provider! O Liberal One! O Most High! O Most Kind! O Bounteous One! After thou art convinced that these names are the names of God and God is thy Giver, none besides Him. And verily He hath mentioned thee in the Book from the first year of innovation in the Bayan. Ye shall count from the fifth day of the first Jim of your month as the first of the years of eternity. Then ye shall count each one, and what exceedeth ye shall subtract thereafter. Each month is nineteen days, and each year nineteen months, and each cycle three hundred and sixty-one. Thus shall ye reckon, not by the rising of the moon, nor by what ye reckon by the sun.

We have relieved you of that wherein ye differed, that ye may be grateful in God’s religion. But at the beginning of each month ye shall face the moon and say:

“This is a remembrance from God in the Book, that ye may remember God, your Lord.”

And verily the glory from God be upon thee, O thou luminous Moon, in every time, and before time, and after time.

Say: Whatsoever thing ye desire, recite ye verses to the number of that thing, according as ye attribute names unto it. If ye love wealth, then recite ye the verse of wealth; and if ye love exaltation, then recite ye the verse of exaltation; and if ye love glory, then recite ye the verse of the All-Glorious. And likewise with all that ye love in your religion and your worldly affairs, in your beginning and your end. If ye love knowledge, then recite ye the verse of knowledge; and if ye love might, then recite ye the verse of might. But recite not according to what ye acquire.

To recite one verse in a spirit of joy and fragrance is better for you than to recite a thousand verses while witnessing aught else but that joy and fragrance. Thus doth God enrich you on the Day of Resurrection with clear verses concerning all that ye love. Say: Verily, one verse from among those most great verses is greater than the creation of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is between them, yet ye understand not the mystery of what was revealed therein, nor do ye perceive it.

Say: We have indeed made all things according to their measure, then revealed for each one a verse, that ye might draw sustenance through the numbers of all things. Say: All draw sustenance from God, and all stand firm through God’s command.
