BB00563: Letter to the second pillar (tahmid)

In the name of God, the Glorified, the Sanctified

Praise be to God who created the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lies between them by His command “Be” and it is. Might belongs to God alone, who created everything by His command. He is powerful over all things. Glory belongs to God alone, who nourishes whom He wills with no accounting. Splendor belongs to God alone, who ordains the creation of all things by His command “Be” and it is. Splendor and beauty belong to God alone, the creator of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lies between them, the Lord of the worlds. Grandeur and exaltation belong to God alone, Knower of the seen and the unseen, Lord of all humanity. Love and mercy belong to God alone, the originator of of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lies between them, Lord of the worlds.

God hath decreed unto every person to take a yellow garnet and to inscribe upon it, “Praise be to God” [al-hamdu lillah], and to deliver it unto him who shall deliver it unto the First, on the Day whereon He shall, by the command of God, be made manifest unto all the worlds.
