He is the King, the All-Powerful, the All-Choosing

O Essence adorned with the adorning of ornaments of the ornate design of stone and the Presence of Camphor! Upon thee, O Essence of the Presence of Creation and the pure simplicity of the Presence of Origination! By my life and by the essences of God’s dominion and the abstract realities of God’s creation! How can I make mention of a light from the adorned ornamentations of the adorning of ornaments of the ornate design of thine abstract essence-knowledge, which, were the veils to be lifted from it, all existence would proclaim concerning thee:

“It is naught but the Hidden Secret, the Symbolic Intent, the Praiseworthy Light, and the Name of the manifestation of the Presence of the Worshipped One.”

And verily that is the most perfect effect of thy wisdom which flowed upon the tablets by God’s leave, exalted be His mention. Otherwise, how could attributes and names describe That Whose names and attributes are severed from the precincts of His nearness, and atoms are obliterated at the mention of the appearance of knowledge of Him.

By my heart and the camphor of my being! How sweet is thy remembrance before my remembrance, how lofty thy station after my station, how great thy right upon me and all my followers, how mighty thy praise in the essence of my soul and all my attributes in my being and in those within my Lord’s knowledge! I bear witness before God and before those who are truth in His knowledge that thou art a sacred leaf which was ignited from the Blessed Tree that indicated naught but its own essence and spoke of nothing except the praise of its Creator. Thou didst fulfill God’s covenant in His Hidden Name and didst convey, by His leave, the decree of His Treasured Name, and didst bring from thy Lord concerning His right what God said concerning His right: “None shall touch it save the purified ones.” And thou didst persevere in the path of God despite what thou didst witness from the idolaters, until thou didst attain the countenance of thy Lord’s manifestation and didst say: “We are God’s and unto Him do we return.”

By my life and by the camphor-like qualities of all beings! How can I describe thy praise when it indicates His station? If I claim the decree of His praise, it is as though I had forgotten God’s grandeur and His right. Otherwise, what have I to do with thy praise, since God created thee for the loftiness of the appearance of His praise? So I bear witness before Him and those within His knowledge that every abstract, pure, camphor-like description mentioned is under the shadow of the majesty of the tree of thine essence, and every radiant, manifest, brilliant attribute is gathered in the station of thy manifestation, yet is non-existent in the station of thine essence which indicates God, thy Lord.

By my life and by those within His knowledge! I bear witness that thou didst establish all the pillars of religion through what thou didst say concerning thy concealment and what thou didst cause to flow upon the tablets in the station of thy martyrdom, for by it people performed the pilgrimage to the Sacred House in the Sacred Month, and all were among the believers. So unto God do I complain of my position, then unto Muhammad and his family my station, then unto the Countenance of the Manifestation and the Water of Camphor my calamities. I beseech God to grant thee a station in Paradise, then from Muhammad and his family and their near ones among the Shi’ih, God’s justice and His wrath against the corrupt oppressors, then God’s grace and His generosity toward the knowing ones, the unitarians. For we say: “Praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds.”

He is the Most Great, the All-Powerful, the All-Forgiving
