BB00386: Du’a’-i-Salavat-i-Muhammad
In the Name of God, the Exalted, the Inaccessible
O God! Thou art the Creator of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them. Thou didst create Muhammad—Thy blessings be upon him—by Thy command, and didst choose him for Thy covenant, and didst select him for Thy remembrance, and didst single him out for Thy providence, and didst place him above all Thy Prophets and Messengers, and didst establish him upon the station of the sovereignty of Thy oneness in the kingdom of Thy earth and the heaven of Thy lordship, that he might convey unto all things that Thou art God, that there is no God but Thee, and that all else besides Thee is Thy creation and within Thy grasp. Thou hast ever been one God, single, unique, self-subsisting, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting. Thou hast taken neither consort nor son, nor hast Thou chosen for Thyself any geometry or number.
O God! Send blessings upon Muhammad with all Thy glory, for he hath borne Thy revelation, and delivered Thy messages, and recited Thy verses, and exalted Thy majesty, and warned of Thy might and power, and given glad tidings of what lieth with Thee of the manifestations of Thy divinity, and the revelations of Thy sovereignty, and the signs of Thy kingdom, and the stations of Thy self-subsistence, where there is no end to the appearance of Thy creation nor to the principles of Thy invention. Therefore, O God, send blessings upon Muhammad superior to what Thou hast bestowed upon any of Thy creation, and upon him what Thou hast specially conferred upon any of Thy servants, and more exalted than what Thou hast graciously bestowed upon any of Thy chosen ones, and more glorious than what Thou hast honored any of Thy sincere ones—blessings that have no equal in Thy knowledge, no likeness in Thy Book, no peer in Thy kingdom, and no companion among the manifestations of Thy creation.
Blessings whereby the heart of Thy Beloved may find contentment in Thee and in all things, and the spirit of Thy Prophet may find repose from Thee and from all things, and the soul of Thy Messenger may find freedom from Thee and from all things, and the body of Thy Guest may find wonder from Thee and from all things. For were he to know that there existed in Thy knowledge even an atom that did not acknowledge Thy oneness, and his prophethood, and the authority of the Imams after him, and the pillars of the House from him, his heart would not rest nor would he be truly content with Thy creation, as his contentment with Thee in every condition is with him.
Therefore, O God, cool his eyes through his contentment with all that Thou hast created and brought into being and dost create or originate, for none possesseth this save Thee, and none hath power over this besides Thee. I beseech Thee, O my God and my Lord, by Muhammad, Thy servant and Thy Prophet and Thy Messenger with Thee, to purify all things, that there may not exist in the knowledge of Thy Beloved aught that he would dislike, by purifying the earth and all that is thereon, that all may worship Thee on the basis that there is no God but Thee, and that Muhammad is Thy Messenger and Thy Beloved, and that the Imams after him are Thy witnesses, and that the pillars of the House are the manifestations of Thy Self. For this cannot be except through Thy grace and mercy. Therefore, O God, accomplish through Thy mercy what I have asked of Thee, for Thou art the Lord of all worlds.
