In the name of God, the Most Great, the Most Great

Glorified art Thou, O my God! I testify, and all things testify, that Thou art God, there is no God but Thee, alone without peer. Thine is the Kingdom and the Kingdom of Heaven, Thine the might and the dominion, Thine the power and the divinity, Thine the strength and sovereignty, Thine the majesty and glory, Thine the countenance and beauty, Thine the cup and the vessel, Thine the face of perfection, Thine the parables and similitudes, Thine the barriers and grandeur, Thine the glory and invincibility, Thine the greatness and independence, Thine the might and transcendence, Thine the strength and exaltation, Thine the joy and gladness, Thine the sovereignty and power, and Thine the scrolls that have no equal, no peer, no likeness, no companion, and no similitude. And Thine is all that hath no equal, no peer, no likeness, no companion, and no similitude among all that Thou hast created.

Glorified and exalted art Thou! Thou art independent of all things, and self-sufficient above all things, while all are poor before Thee in love and knowledge, and are servants unto Thee in obedience and faith. I shall glorify Thee beyond all that contingent beings have glorified or shall glorify Thee, and I shall sanctify Thee beyond all that atoms have sanctified or shall sanctify Thee, and I shall exalt Thee beyond all that atoms have exalted or shall exalt Thee, and I shall unite Thee beyond all that atoms have united or shall unite Thee, and I shall magnify Thee beyond all that atoms have magnified or shall magnify Thee, and I shall extol Thee beyond all that atoms have extolled or shall extol Thee, and I shall praise Thee beyond all that atoms have praised or shall praise Thee, and I shall thank Thee beyond all that atoms have thanked or shall thank Thee, and I shall empower Thee beyond all that atoms have empowered or shall empower Thee, and I shall glorify Thee beyond all that atoms have glorified or shall glorify Thee.

All this is far beneath ascription to Thee, for verily Thou art sanctified above all names and attributes, and exalted above all similitudes and indications. Glorified and exalted art Thou! Thou art glorified in every place, sanctified in every time, exalted in every moment, resplendent in every paradise, and transcendent above all heavens.

If I say Thou art knowing, verily Thou art the Creator of knowledge by Thy power. If I say Thou art powerful, verily Thou art the Originator of power by Thy all-encompassing might. If I say Thou art hearing, verily Thou art the Bestower of hearing by Thy lordship. If I say Thou art seeing, verily Thou art the Creator of sight by Thy self-subsistence. If I say Thou art ruling, verily Thou art the Originator of rule by Thy oneness. If I say Thou art witnessing, verily Thou art the Establisher of all things by Thine eternity. If I say Thou art subtle, verily Thou art the Doer of subtlety by Thy wisdom. If I say Thou art present, verily Thou art the Creator of presence by Thy self-subsistence. If I say Thou art manifest, verily Thou art the Manifester of manifestation by Thy manifestation. If I say Thou art the Creator, verily Thou art the Originator of creation by Thy attraction. If I say Thou art omnipotent, verily Thou art the Subduer of all by Thy omnipotence.

O Thou Who wert before all things, and shall be after all things, Who existeth with all things, and shall remain after all things! Send Thy blessings upon the Point of the Bayan, then upon the First One in that paradise, then upon that which multiplieth that Unity in Thy love and Thy good-pleasure, Thy affection and Thy glory. And I praise Thee for having created the letters of the Gospel-bearers with true praise from their scrolls. O God, rear and train all Thy creatures that they may perfect their handiwork, each after its own kind; that every thing may enter the garden into which, by Thy bounty, it may fittingly enter—the pearl into its pearliness, the mote into its moteness—and all that lieth between them within the bounds of its being and the precinct of its created nature.

O God! Preserve everyone who preserves the Bayan with all its letters, even to a single point, and cast away anyone who casts away the Bayan, even if his veiling be from a single point thereof, and he fails to preserve it, for this is Thy sustenance for all Thy creation until the next Resurrection. I have witnessed no glory except in Thy love and Thy good-pleasure, and I would not exchange Thy love for all the kingdoms of the world and their riches multiplied, for these in Thy sight are as nothing in truth. Therefore, O God, strive to bring all to Thy religion lest any soul be consumed by the fire of being veiled from Thee, through might and glory from Thee and through force and conquest from Thy presence, not through what the weak are guided by and what they call to without power and authority, for this befits not the majesty of Thy countenance nor the beauty of Thy presence. Glory be unto Thee! There is no God but Thee. Verily Thou art the Most Powerful of the powerful.
