BB00259: Du’a’ath-Thani fi Ardi’l’A’la li-Karbala’I Mustafa Quli

The Second Prayer in the Most Exalted Land—Al-Karbala’i Mustafa Quli

In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy

Glory be unto Thee, O my God! I testify, and all things testify, that Thou art God, there is no God but Thee, alone with no partner. Thine is the dominion of the earth and heavens, Thine is might and power divine, Thine is strength and glory sublime, Thine is force and dominion in time, Thine is sovereignty o’er all that doth shine, Thine is majesty and grandeur combined, Thine is beauty and perfection designed, Thine is glory and excellence defined, Thine is independence and dominion sublime, Thine is majesty and exaltation divine, Thine is power none can confine, Thine is joy and delight that doth shine, Thine is greatness and pride none can define, Thine are the names and attributes divine.

Thou hast ever been One God, Single, Eternal, Self-Subsisting, All-Wise, All-Just, Most Holy. Thou hast taken neither consort nor son, no partner hast Thou in creation, no helper in Thy handiwork. Thou didst create all things by Thy power and fashion all things by Thy will. Thou dost ever give life and death, then death and life, and verily Thou art the Ever-Living Who dieth not, the Sovereign Who passeth not away, the Just Who wrongeth not, the King Who changeth not, the Single One from Whose grasp nothing escapeth, whether in the heavens or on earth or between them. Thou createst what Thou willest by Thy command; verily, Thou art powerful over all things.

Sanctified are Thy likenesses and exalted are Thy attributes. Thou hast ever been triumphant above all contingent things, manifest above all existing things, unapproachable above all created things, elevated above all essences, transcendent above all who dwell in the kingdoms of earth and heaven. All are Thy servants and within Thy grasp. The dwellers of Thy heaven and earth worship Thee, and they who abide in the kingdom of Thy Command and creation sanctify Thee. Thou hast ever been supreme over all things and powerful over all things. There is nothing that doth not glorify Thy praise, sanctify Thy remembrance, magnify Thy praise, worship Thee as befitteth Thy glory, and detach itself unto Thee as befitteth Thy justice.

Thou didst create all things from nothing by Thy power, and provided for all in the kingdom of command and creation by Thy will. Thou didst cause to die whom Thou didst will among Thy creation by Thy might, and didst give life to whom Thou didst desire among the dwellers of Thy heaven and earth by Thy mercy and the sublimity of Thy grandeur. Thou art the One Who existed before all things, Who will exist after all things, Who brought all things into being, Who will remain after all things, Who causes all things to pass away.

Exalted is the Manifestation of Thy Cause, sanctified is the likeness of Thy sovereign justice, and glorified are the Manifestations of the might of Thy holy dominion above the ability of all contingent things to praise Thee as Thou art, or all existing things to sanctify Thee as Thou deservest. Thou hast ever created from nothing by Thy power and decreed what Thou didst love by the sovereignty of Thy Lordship. All Thy servants, worshippers, suppliants, and celebrants are ever enchanted by the holy fragrances of Thy might that glorify Thee, and illumined by the manifestations of Thy majestic glory that proclaim Thy oneness.

Thou art He Who hath taken neither consort nor son, and Thy Being hath never been joined with any manifestation of Thy creation. Thou didst bring into being all that Thou didst create by Thy will, originate all that Thou didst originate by Thy desire, generate all that Thou didst generate by Thy power, and invent all that Thou didst invent by Thy purpose. Thou art He Who sent forth the Messengers to manifest Thy power and revealed the Books to exalt Thy sovereignty, and created what Thou didst will of the varieties of Thy creation by the wondrous might of Thy oneness.

How near art Thou to Thy creation, how generous art Thou to Thy servants, how exalted art Thou above the dwellers of Thy heaven and earth, how established art Thou above all who dwell in the kingdom of Thy command and creation! Thou didst hold back the heavens from falling upon the earth by Thy power, and didst hold the earth above the water by Thy grandeur. Thine is the most sublime elevation above all who possess elevation and exaltation, and Thine is the most glorious ascendancy above all who possess ascendancy. The splendours of Thy wondrous gifts have ever descended upon those who love Thee, and the manifestations of Thy Cause upon those who are sanctified by Thee. Glorified art Thou above all that hath glorified Thee or shall ever glorify Thee, and exalted art Thou above all that hath sanctified Thee or shall ever sanctify Thee. Thou hast established all the paths Thou hast established for the recognition of Thy Self-Subsistence, and Thou hast originated all the wonders Thou hast created for the manifestation of Thy Divine Unity.

I beseech Thee, O my God, to send down upon the guides to Thy Self, the manifestations of Thy Cause, the repositories of Thy creation, and the treasuries of Thy words, that which beseemeth Thy grace and Thy bounty, Thy generosity and Thy glory, Thy favor and Thy beneficence, Thy munificence and Thy sovereignty, Thy bestowal and Thy majesty. For verily Thou art powerful over what Thou willest and mighty over what Thou desirest. Thou createst what Thou pleaseth and ordainest what Thou wishest. None hath any power save through Thee alone. There is no God but Thee. Glory be to Thee, I have ever been of those who remember Thee.

I testify before Thee, O my God, concerning that which was asked of the Point of the Furqan and His living Letters, that on the Day of Resurrection the Command is Thine alone. There is no God but Thee, and verily all, whether of the past or of the future, shall be brought before Thee, and that which draweth them nigh unto Thee is their acknowledgment of Thy oneness without hesitation at Thy saying “Am I not your Lord?” And verily that which appeared aforetime from the chosen ones of Thy Self was because they were the thrones of Thy Cause, and therefore Thou didst grant unto each what Thou didst grant, and that Day was none other than the Day of Presentation. Glory be to Thee, there is no God but Thee. Glory be to Thee, I have ever been of those who remember Thee.

I bear witness that whosoever looketh upon the essence of the acknowledgment of the manifestation of Thy creation, which is the ultimate essence of knowledge and deed, shall testify that those who responded to Thee in Thy previous Manifestation, since there are no limits to the conditions of Thy creation that anyone can define, and this in Thy Book none can witness except the one inspired, and whatsoever hath been mentioned attributed to the Manifestations of Thy Cause of old […]
