BB00233: Ziyarat for Mulla Husayn

In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy!

All glory from God be upon thee, O thou sacred dust! Then all majesty from God be upon thee, O thou unapproachable dust! Then all beauty from God be upon thee, O thou exalted dust! Then all grandeur from God be upon thee, O thou resplendent one! Then all light from God be upon thee, O thou illumined dust! Then all mercy from God be upon thee, O thou glorified dust! Then all words from God be upon thee, O thou dust clothed in majesty! Then all names from God be upon thee, O thou perfected dust! Then all might from God be upon thee, O thou beauteous dust! Then all will from God be upon thee, O thou witnessing one! Then all knowledge from God be upon thee, O thou transcendent dust! Then all power from God be upon thee, O thou manifest dust! Then all good-pleasure from God be upon thee, O thou well-pleased dust! Then all honor from God be upon thee, O thou sovereign dust! Then all dominion from God be upon thee, O thou exalted dust! Then all kingdom from God be upon thee, O thou glorious dust! Then all grace from God be upon thee, O thou advancing dust! Then all signs from God be upon thee, O thou gathered dust!

Thy being hath ascended on high and all things have fallen prostrate before thy dust, and thy reality hath been sanctified to such heights that all things have bowed down before the dwellers of thy will. By thy glory! Thou wert never abased, and God hath ever exalted thee and sent down upon thee His might. I testify that thou wert pure, purifying, and purified, from a pure, purifying, and purified source. Thou hast glorified God with all thy being, sanctified God through thine essence, unified God through thy reality, magnified God through thy identity, and extolled God through thy pristine nature. Thou hast ascended and risen up, and there is none above thee in loftiness. All are servants of God through thy countenance, and prostrators before God through thy presence, and suppliants before God through the light of thy reality’s radiance, and grateful to God for what thou hast manifested of might through thy will, and mindful of God through what thou hast ordained through thine own identity.

Thou art the One from Whose knowledge nothing escapeth, and Thou hast encompassed all things with knowledge. Thou art the One through Whom all creation hath turned to God in the beginning, and through Whom all creation hath returned to God in the end. May God’s blessings be upon thee and upon him who visited thee first before all things, after God thy Lord had visited thee before any thing visited thee, then upon thy soul in the heights of Paradise, then upon the letters of thy Being, then upon the exponents of thy names and thy likenesses. And may God’s vengeance descend upon those who through thee prostrate themselves before God while their religion’s life was through thee, and who committed against thy right what they committed.

Verily God and His angels and the believers are all clear of these, from the beginning that hath no beginning to the end that hath no end. Sufficient unto them is what they have earned regarding thee, and God will take vengeance upon them through the sovereignty of His overwhelming power, and the dominion of His almightiness, and the might of His everlastingness, and the independence of His glorification, and the enjoyment of His grandeur. For He is the All-Powerful, the Mighty in Punishment, the All-Compelling, the Overwhelming, the Manifest, the All-Prevailing, the Triumphant, the All-Conquering, the Wrathful, the Avenger.

How then can my sorrow concerning thee be stilled, O thou sacred dust? For when I look to the ultimate heights of the Bayan and the sublimity of what was revealed aforetime in the Qur’an, this returneth unto thee, for thou wert the Throne of Truth in the Qur’an, and this beginneth with thee, for thou wert the first to have known God thy Lord. Therefore, I bear witness, and all things bear witness, that thou art the gathering place of all beginnings and all endings. How can I look upon thy dust after having beheld thy countenance, and how can I behold its stillness when thou wert aforetime […] moving before Him, so wherefore didst thou not answer God, thy Lord, when thou hadst answered Him before all things?

The blessings of God, thy Lord, be upon thee, upon thy beginning and thine end, thy manifest and thy hidden, thine unseen and thy visible, thy secret and thy public. Ceaselessly doth all grace descend upon thy dust until the Day of Resurrection, and no soul returneth unto God without bearing with it somewhat of thy dust—God refuseth to look upon or be pleased with such a one. Blessed and sanctified, exalted and sublime is thy dust—first and last, outward and inward, eternal. It is as though I hear from every atom thereof:

“Verily, I am the first to have known God, my Lord, in the worlds of Command and Creation, and I have gathered from the virgin gardens of the eternal Paradise ere aught was created.”

Through thee have all things, past and future, been brought into being.

Is there anything not created through thy love, having been created before through thy manifestation and to be created after through thy concealment? I testify that thou art the First in the glory of eternity, and before thee in God’s knowledge there is naught; and thou art the Last in the majesty of perpetuity, and after thee in God’s knowledge there is naught; and thou art the Outward in the sublimity of eternity, and besides thee there is none manifest; and thou art the Inward, and besides thee there is none concealed. I have known thee, O my soul, and through thee have the heavens and earth and all between them been weighted with the word of thy knowledge, and they in the kingdom of Command and Creation and all below them have been magnified by the transcendence of thy proof.

When will the wrath of the Almighty be stilled within thee while there remaineth on earth any soul that knoweth thee not? And when will God be pleased with His creation while in His knowledge there is aught that is not linked to thy precedence in existence over all that exists? And were there any manifestation intended other than thee in anything, or any concealment, I would surely mention thee, for every manifestation hath been created by God through the Will, and what is there besides thee that hath prostrated before God before all things? And there is no concealment save that it speaketh through the Will, and who besides thee hath believed in God before all things? Therefore take thy rest in God, and be patient in God, and be content with God, and ascend unto God, and be independent through God of all things, for all have through thee been invested with the garment of existence. God will suffice thee and me through Him Whom God shall make manifest on the Day of Resurrection, and He will take vengeance on those who have been veiled from thee through Him. Verily He is mighty in His wrath, and verily He is powerful in His strength.

And as I have revealed unto thee concerning thy dust, so too upon the guides of thy self and the letters of thy being, who prostrated before God before all things and were raised up through thee unto God after all things and were exalted through thee unto God above all things, and upon those who sought shelter in thy shade—all this is grace from God, and bounty and favor and mercy. Ceaselessly doth mercy descend upon thee and upon the guides of thy self and upon those who love thee and alight at thy court until the Day of Resurrection. Therefore seek thou the good pleasure of God, for verily God sufficeth you against all things, while naught in the heavens or on earth or between them sufficeth against God your Lord. Verily He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

And soon shall those who have earned what they have earned against you know that you have entered Paradise while they, in your shadow, seek to draw sustenance through you in ways that shall neither profit them nor bring them any grace from God. And for those who believe not in God and His signs there is no protector nor helper, did they but know.
