In the Name of God, the Most High, the Most Great

All praise be unto God Who hath adorned the realities of being with identity, and hath sprinkled the unities with the most wondrous and novel mysteries, and hath brought forth the inmost secrets through the Primal Sign, and hath created the divine essences through effacement from the final attribution, and hath shed upon the mystical verses of glory the lightning of His beauty in the secret sign, and hath radiated upon all atoms, from the summit of the Point of Divinity to the depths of the lowest descent in the human realm, an overflow from the sprinkling of majesty in the mystery veiled by the canopy of the Dove, and hath illumined all in all through the comprehensive lights from the emergence of light from the dome of the letter Ha, and hath concealed the divine matters within the atomic identities in the sublime mysteries enshrouded by the surge of radiant effulgence, and hath caused the sun of praise to shine in the temple of origination, and hath made the moon of glory to rise in the belt of heaven, and hath sent down from heaven the drops of the cloud of unknowing, and hath quickened thereby the divine temples through the supreme effacement.

Then did He cause the crimson leaf to speak with remembrance from His glorious countenance in the mantle, whereby all things in all things learned through the melody of the Bird of Sinai that verily there is no God but Him, and He is the One besides Whom there is no God, and He is the Most High, the All-Praised.

Praise be unto God, Who hath inspired us with the wondrous tokens of His effulgent splendors, and caused us to remember, in every attraction, the dawning of His lights; Who hath overshadowed us, at every turn, with the dews of His Sinai, and shed abroad the radiance of the shining beams of His revelation within the hearts of His loved ones; Who hath caused the birds of the Cloud to chant the call of fidelity from the crimson leaves within the breasts of His chosen ones; and made the dove to sing, in every secret, of the mysteries of His light: that there is none other God but He—He, beside Whom there is none other God—He, the Mighty, the All-Wise.

O my God and my Master! I call upon Thee in every aspect of that attraction which is sprinkled upon me from Thy drawing power; I cry unto Thee by that which illumines my heart through the manifestation of Thy being; and I remember Thee by that whereby Thou makest me to remember Thee through the inspirations of the hidden mysteries of Thy countenance.

O my God! What am I that I should stand before the city of Thy holiness and utter praise? What am I, O my Beloved, but a mote—nay, less than the least of motes—that I should have a station in the court of Thy sanctity in fidelity? What am I but a servant, that I should gaze upon Thy verses which Thy servants behold in every condition, that they may begin, through Thy remembrance, to attain Thy meeting?

For the servant is naught but the point of Lordship diffused from Him into the temples of the divine realm; he is the sign whereby, through the reflection of His lights, unity is found within the secret chambers of might; whereby, through the sprinkling of the shining of the lights of His Presence, sovereignty and the Kingdom are established; and whereby, through the fluttering of the veil of His countenance, all things have been filled—within all things—with the cry: There is none other God but Thee; and Thou art the Lord of all the worlds.

O my God and my Master! Inspire us with the dewdrops of Thy remembrance, and strengthen us through the vivifying power emanating from the countenance of Thy chosen ones. Purify our hearts through drinking the mysteries from the chalice of Thy loved ones, and dispel whatever keeps us from attaining unto the presence of the assemblage of intimate fellowship with the people of Thy Cause. Remove the veils that prevent us from connecting with their service, from arising to aid them, and from submitting to that which Thou commandest us through their utterances.

O my God! Cause me to know Thee through that whereby Thy Messenger maketh Thee known, for verily there is no path unto Thee save through Him. And cause me to know Thy Messenger through the knowledge of Thy Vicegerent, for they are indeed of one soul, and the knowledge of one is impossible except through the other. And cause me to know Thy Vicegerent through the knowledge of Thy Proof in that age, for without this, O my God, it would be impossible to recognize Him Who standeth for Thy Cause, Who calleth unto Thy Self, and Who manifesteth the ordinances of Thy Prophet.

For His appearance is more glorious than all that existeth in the realm of creation, His manifestation more exalted than all that lieth within the mysteries of the Divine Kingdom, for Thou hast sanctified Him with Thy sanctification and hast linked His Self to Thine Own Self, where Thou didst say—and Thy Word is the Truth—“Verily, your guardian is none other than God and His Messenger and those who believe.” Nay, He is Thy Very Self amongst Thy servants, Thy Manifestation in Thy lands, the warbling of Thy doves with their hearts in Thy heaven and Thy earth, and Thy signs which suffer no suspension in any aspect of Thy dominion. There is no God but Thee.

Therefore have hearts been prevented from drawing nigh unto the court of His glory, and minds have been struck with bewilderment should He desire to reveal from behind the veils any ray of His light. All have been rendered as naught should He wish to manifest the revelation of His Oneness at the sanctuary of His holiness. Thereafter, O my God, the paths of the servants have been barred from Thy Friend, and all have been turned back from seeking the beauty of Thy Proof, and all have been prevented from seeking His presence for Thy sake. And since Thou, O my God, art possessed of a wondrous decree and art the Owner of a subtle mystery, Thou hast ordained for the servants to stand at the gate of Thy city of Oneness, to submit to Him Whom Thou shalt manifest after the concealment of Thy Friend, and to obey Him in every matter in sincerity to Thy Faith.

Therefore assist us, O my God, to recognize Thy Proof in that Day, and cause us to know, O my God, what Thou desirest regarding His station of sanctity in that Day. O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy truth, I call upon Thee by Thy call, and I seek intercession through Thy chosen ones in Thy kingdom—Muhammad and Ali and Fatimih and Hasan and Husayn and Ali and Muhammad and Ja’far and Musa and Ali and Muhammad and Ali and Hasan and Thy Proof, He Who standeth in Thy place and conveyeth Thy message unto Thy servants—that Thou shouldst bless them as befitteth Thee and as Thou art worthy, for Thou art the Lord of grandeur and glory, Thou art the Lord of splendor and praise, Thou art the Lord of power and majesty. There is no God but Thee, and Thou art the Lord of all worlds.

I beseech Thee by their rights and by the rights of their honored followers who are the bearers of their mysteries, the interpreters of their laws, the expounders of their knowledge, and those who convey their message unto their subjects, that Thou shouldst cause me to recognize Thy Proof in that time, He Whom Thou hast established in the place of Thy Friend, Who standeth in Thy station for the Bayan, and that Thou shouldst make me steadfast, after recognizing Him, in His love, and gladden me in every condition through the lights of His beauty that Thou dost cause to descend upon my heart. Then draw me unto Him in every way like a bird returning to its nest in longing for His presence. Then inspire me to aid His Cause and enable me to exalt Thy decree in His command, so that Thou seest me in no state except calling unto Him in detachment and clinging to the cord of His proof with the innermost secrets of remoteness.

For O my Beloved and my Master, this is the most exalted of stations Thou hast created in existence, which Thou bestowest on none save those Thou hast chosen from among the pure ones, those whom Thou hast given the totality of Thy wisdom until Thou hast shown them Thy mystery in the verses with faithfulness. Thou knowest, O my God and my Master, that this world and all within it hath no station with Thee, else Thou wouldst not have allowed even a drop thereof to one who hath turned away from Thy remembrance and shown pride before Thee. There is no God but Thee, and Thou art the Lord of all worlds.

O God! O my God and my Master! Thou knowest that I love whom Thou lovest, and since one of Thy loved ones—whose decree Thou knowest and whom Thou hast honored by causing his name to descend from Thy most exalted treasuries corresponding to the name of the seventh of Thy Friends, peace be upon him—hath disappeared from our sight in the realm of bodies, though the decree is as Thou hast decreed in the world of righteousness, I desired by Thy leave and hoped through Thy countenance to send greetings unto him in this leaf out of longing for Thy beauty, for there is no God but Thee.

Therefore convey my greetings, O my God, unto him and unto those among Thy servants who love him, who were in the Land of Ta, and preserve him from whatsoever displeaseth Thee. For verily he believeth in Thy Cause, recognizeth Thy Proof, submitteth to Thy decree, calleth unto Thy Self, aideth Thy Cause, and preserveth Thy secret. Therefore assist him, O my God, through Thy bounty, for Thou art the Self-Sufficient, the Generous; Thou art the Mighty, the Merciful; Thou art the All-Knowing, the Wise. There is no God but Thee, and Thou art my Lord and the Lord of all worlds.
