BB00129: Li-Akhiri’l-Mu’min

In the name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy!

Verily I am God, there is no God but Me. I have created all things by My command, and all else besides Me is My creation. Say: O My creation! Worship ye Me! Verily I have existed from time immemorial, before and after all things, and no state existeth but that I have a proof thereof among My creation. Could there be any state conceived in My mind without My having created beings to worship Me and without My having established My proof over them? Glory be to God beyond all that! All things are created by My command, and verily My command existed before all things, after them, above all things and beneath them. Through it We create whatsoever We will—will ye not then behold?

I have created what I have created in such wise that none besides Me can comprehend it. How then can ye hope to understand the extent of the worlds set forth in the Book until the time of Adam? Until this moment, what ye would enumerate hath been ordained. Creation reached its culmination at the appearance of Muhammad, the Apostle of God, and We sent down the Furqan (Qur’an) unto him that ye might be assured of the signs of God, that the fruits of your faith might be manifested on the Day of My Manifestation. How is it then that ye comprehend not?

I have manifested the Gate through the revelation of My Self on the Day of Resurrection, that We might recompense those who believed in the Qur’an and cast into the fire those who believed not therein. Behold ye therefore! And from the first day of the Resurrection until now, ye behold those numbered by the letters Ra and Sad, and besides them those who are sincere in their faith. These are the best of those who have worshipped God according to the Qur’an, while those besides them were far removed from Our signs. We bear witness to no faith in them, nor will We recompense them with aught. Thus shall those who are veiled from Our signs enter the fire.

Your religion and all that is established therein existed only through My verses aforetime in the Furqan. How is it then that on this day ye have neither heard nor perceived, yet remain steadfast in your religion? Will your steadfastness profit you save in the fire? Verily when We say “Be!” and it is, your souls shall perish and your deeds shall be effaced. Can ye find any mention before God or any deed of those who entered not Islam? Your souls are like unto them, yet ye understand not. Ye prostrate yourselves before Me night and day, yet ye are not among those who act truly. If ye have prostrated before Me, how is it that when ye hear My verses ye prostrate not? If ye worship Me, how is it that ye believe not in Him unto whom We have given verses and clear proofs from Our presence?

I bear witness concerning what the Qur’an hath brought forth until now of those who believed in Me and were sincere—these are they who have met their Lord and are assured of His signs. I have witnessed no fruit like the mention of Mine own Name, the Mighty, the Wise. I have witnessed what I have made manifest of that might and wisdom from first to last and all between, whereby the heavens are nearly rent asunder, the earth cleft open, and the mountains fall down in ruins.

They have entered their chambers in paradise, but the fire shall torment you for what your hands have wrought, and the angels shall take vengeance upon you, yet ye perceive it not. I revealed not the Qur’an nor commanded Islam save for this day, and verily We were witnesses that the highest fruits of the verses have ascended to such a station that those in the heavens cannot but weep thereat—even all those in the worlds who worship God and magnify Him.

After he had ascended unto God his Lord, with a countenance wherein naught could be seen save the face of God, it was fulfilled according to the number We had sent down aforetime in the Furqan, but with authority. Thus did We cause him to ascend to a horizon that none had ever attained, after which the Tablet is powerless to reckon, the Pen to write, or the ink to flow concerning that which was decreed for him.

And verily beyond that in creation none can ascend unto God at that most exalted horizon of the Ridvan—We were witnesses to this. And after he had ascended until what was inscribed, We were witnesses. The angels of heaven were astounded by him, such that the sincere servants of God should be wholly detached unto Him.

I Myself prayed for him as none had ever prayed, and in My prayer I said:

“Verily I am God, there is no God but I, the Most Evident, the Most Evident, the Lord of all worlds,”

according to the number I had testified. Would God pray for anyone? Yes, for one whom creation did not pray for yet who was among those certain in their love for God. And thus do We bestow Our grace upon whomsoever We will, and We were witnesses.

All things glorify God through him while you turn toward Him day and night, yet you neither know nor perceive. You shall be torn utterly asunder in the fire, and God will seize you with a mighty seizure. We have power over all things.

I have raised up his remembrance thereby and erased mention of those who showed pride against him through their own works, for We have ever been supreme over creation. O people of faith in the Qur’an! How often have you recited mention of what was decreed concerning those who were martyrs after Muhammad the Messenger of God, wishing you could be one of them—praying, fasting, performing pilgrimage, giving alms and reforming yourselves day and night that you might draw nigh unto God and earn what the Pen is ashamed to write!

What ails you that you do not understand? You commemorate the afflictions of those who were martyrs before and spend your wealth in their cause, leaving your homes to go to them. Yet when they returned to their former life, you earned in their right what We witnessed. How can you be patient when they have turned to God? God’s proof, at its appearance, completed His argument against all who are on earth.

These shall enter the Ridvan through God’s verses, while those shall be punished in the fire for not believing God’s verses. These are the highest fruits of the Furqan, while those are the severest fruits of the fire wherein you shall be tormented though you perceive it not.

We prayed for them and commanded the angels of the heavens and earth and what lies between them to descend upon them, and they were humble before them. We punished those others and all associated with them, and We shall punish whoever loves them or mentions their names without cursing them. At that time they shall curse themselves by their former names.

And let them not curse them, for at that moment they are cursing themselves by their own names as before, and they are indeed worse than these others. Verily the punishment of God in the hereafter is more severe than what was ordained in the first life. Therefore await ye the Manifestation of God, for ye shall indeed be tried. Remember what We have revealed in the Book, and invoke blessings upon those who were martyred in the path of God, and curse those who have unjustly acquired that which burns the hearts of all peoples.

But on the Day of Truth ye shall follow all that was revealed in the Bayan, yet shall ye be veiled from its fruits just as ye were veiled from these ones. Verily Islam circles round about them while ye commit against them that which causes tears to flow down the faces of the God-fearing. Soon shall ye exalt their stations, and ye shall all enter therein, and shall pride yourselves in prostrating at their doors, and ye shall be rewarded when ye are sincere.

This is among that which changeth not with God and altereth not in any way. But that which existeth with that Temple and that which changeth is attributed unto Us, wherefore We indeed do weep. Were ye not to grieve on account of My Self, it would be better for you than acquiring all good things.

And those whom ye do not recognize as being guided—they do not act thus, even though they are veiled from that which they have been commanded. But they will not flee this religion of theirs, and that which they do not wish—that they should grieve on account of My Self—shall profit them. But that which ye worship by night and by day, while ye were not sincere, shall not profit you, and what ye commit against those who are more precious in God’s sight than all creation shall harm you.

See then how God will destroy you thereby, though ye claimed to be workers for God’s sake. Those who killed the Imams of the Faith spoke words like unto your words, and upon you shall be ordained in the Book of God that which is more severe than what was ordained for them. Ye shall not flee from God and His names in any way, though ye worship by His names night and day.

Therefore weep for them insofar as ye are able, when it becomes grievous upon your hearts, spirits, souls and bodies, or else grieve in your hearts, for We shall record, on account of this love of yours, the reward thereof in God’s Book if ye are sincere in this.

I send greetings upon thee, O thou purified body, and upon those who have been tried as thou wert tried in My good-pleasure. I shall bestow upon you from the treasuries of My Cause that wherewith ye shall be well-pleased, and even more than that wherewith ye shall be well-pleased. And verily what I have bestowed upon you is above that wherewith your hearts would be content, for were ye to hear the like of this from God, how it would attract your hearts, spirits, souls and bodies, and ye would be content that your spirits be severed from you by reason of what ye find of the love of God within you—this is above that wherewith your souls would be content.

Therefore grieve not in your stations, for We shall indeed take vengeance. Be patient in God, for We were patient. Thus doth God cause you to enter Paradise through His grace, and causeth those who know you not to enter the Fire by reason of what their hands have wrought. Thus doth God requite the veiled ones and show favor unto the sincere ones who have answered God’s call in what they asked of His grace. Verily He is the All-Bountiful, the Exalted.

Before Him prostrate all who are in the heavens and who are on the earth and what lieth between them. Verily He is the Mighty, the Impregnable, the Exalted. And unto God glorify all who are in the heavens and on the earth and whatsoever lieth between them, and verily He is the Mighty, the Powerful, the Strong. And unto God boweth down in worship whosoever is in the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them, and verily He is the All-Compelling, the One possessed of terrible might. And verily He is the Subduer, possessed of supreme ascendancy. And verily He is the Almighty Who shall assuredly take vengeance upon those who believe not in God and His signs, and who have caused even an atom’s weight of sorrow unto them that have believed in God and His signs. Verily He was ever possessed of immense power. O all things! Ye shall surely weep for Him Who had no peer or likeness on earth, and ye shall grieve for Him and be among those who sorrow in the days of God.
