BB00118: Ziyarat for the eight letters
Part 1: “God beareth witness that there is no God…”
In the Name of God, the Most Unapproachable, the Most Holy!
God beareth witness that there is no God but Him, the Sovereign, the Holy, the Peace-Giving, the Faithful, the Guardian, the Mighty, the Omnipotent, the Most Great, the One, the Glorious, the Hidden, the Manifest, the Dominant, the Pre-existent, the Most High. His are the most excellent names. All that are in the heavens and on earth and in between praise Him. There is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Well-Beloved.
Upon you be the Glory from God, O Essences of Glory! Upon you be the Majesty from God, O Manifestations of Majesty! Upon you be the Beauty from God, O Embodiments of Beauty! Upon you be the Grandeur from God, O Mines of Grandeur! Upon you be the Light from God, O Dawning-Places of Light! Upon you be the Mercy from God, O Treasuries of Mercy! Upon you be the Names from God, O Keys of the Names! Upon you be the Words from God, O Meanings of the Words! Upon you be the Might from God, O Manifestations of Might! Upon you be the Will from God, O Sources of Will! Upon you be the Knowledge from God in your souls, O Repositories of Knowledge and Wisdom! Upon you be the Power from God, O Manifestations of Power! Upon you be the Utterance from God, O Manifestations of Utterance! Upon you be the Honor from God, O Treasuries of Honor! Upon you be the Sovereignty from God, O Mines of Sovereignty! Upon you be the Dominion from God, O Essences of Dominion! Upon you be the Loftiness from God, O Wonders of Loftiness! Upon you be the Grace from God, O Manifestations of Grace!
How exalted is your station, your station before God your Lord and before those who know you through you! Through you God hath begun and through you shall God end. I testify that ye are the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, the Exalted and the Steadfast, the Distinguished and the Just, the Rulers and the Content, the All-Embracing and the Perfect, the Patient and the Articulate, the Truthful and the Most Manifest, the Most Hidden and the Most Elevated, the Most Impregnable, who have known God before all things and have endured in God after all things and have striven in God above all things and have sought the good pleasure of God beyond all things.
I testify that ye have attained what sufficeth you from the grace of your Lord, and had ye attained less than this it would not have sufficed you from God your Lord. Through you are the hearts of the glorifiers made sorrowful, and upon you flow the tears of the sanctified ones, in your Lord repose the spirits of the unified ones, unto you return the essences of the proud ones, and upon you are displayed the realities of all beings.
I testify by God and by those who are in His knowledge that ye were created by the Word of the Point of the Bayan and ye attained that grace by prostrating yourselves before God before all things through His signs and proofs. God shall fill the heavens and the earth and whatsoever lieth between them with the evidences of your faith in God and the manifestations of your love for God, until nothing shall be seen except that it beareth witness that there is no God but Him and that the First One is the first of all created things, then ye who have known God your Lord before all things and have believed in His unity and have confirmed what hath been sent down from His presence.
Then when ye beheld the veils of creation and their remoteness from prostrating themselves before God their Lord and from worshipping God their Creator, ye consented to ascend unto God that all within the kingdom of the heavens and earth and whatsoever lieth between them might bear witness that there is no God but Him, for the good pleasure of one among you is greater before God than the good pleasure of all creation, though none perceiveth this save whom God willeth, and verily all grace is from God upon your first and your last, your outer and your inner, and upon those who have sought shelter in your shadow from among the first and the last, the outer and the inner—they who have glorified God with certain truth, and sanctified God with the eye of certainty, and unified God with assured knowledge, and magnified God with certain might, and exalted God with certain truth. Blessed are they and what they have received of God’s grace and mercy. Thus should His sincere servants act.
Then in the Ridvan, upon their thrones they gaze before them at what their souls desire, and they have from God what they ask of His grace. They say:
“Praise be to God Who hath caused us to know Him, that there is none other God but Him, and made us among His believing servants, and ordained for us from His presence that which hath admitted us into the gardens of delight wherein we have all things delicate, and God shall increase His grace upon us, for He is the All-Encompassing, the All-Knowing.”
O all things! Were ye to know what We know from God, and were ye to see what We see in the Most Great Ridvan, ye would not remain in your bodies before your inner knowledge returns to you, except that ye all yearn toward God. Unto Us what We have earned, and unto you what ye earn. We testify before God and all things that God hath created naught save for those who take shelter in the shadow of the Bayan until the Day of Resurrection.
And in the Bayan is that which createth and sustaineth, causeth to die and giveth life, and that which God shall resurrect for Him Whom God shall make manifest on the Day of Resurrection in truth, for that is the certain truth. Ye shall attain at the time of His manifestation as ye attained at the time of the manifestation of the Point of the Bayan, that ye may remember before God the remembrance of the First One. Is there any grace equal to this? Say: Glory be to God above what ye mention.
God shall resurrect you when He willeth through the Word of Him Whom God shall make manifest, for He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful. None other than Him hath power over anything, whether he possess the whole earth or possess nothing, for all are poor before Him and powerless save Him, for all return unto Him and all are created by His command in a wondrous creation.
Ye have been elevated and have inflamed the hearts of those who know you. When shall hearts, spirits, souls and bodies find rest after witnessing what hath been decreed for you? Unto you is all God’s good-pleasure, and unto those who have acted against you without right is all that is contrary to God’s good-pleasure. This is God’s grace unto you, and this is other than God’s grace for those who know you not.
God shall unite with you in the highest chambers of Ridvan whomsoever He willeth of His sincere servants, for this is of God’s grace unto whomsoever He willeth. There is no God but Him, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting. This is a day wherein it behooveth everyone who hath previously followed Islam to seek shelter in your shadow.
Then ye shall all present yourselves, and those who are in your shadow, before Muhammad the Messenger of God, and then shall ye all be present before God, and prostrate yourselves before God, your Lord, the Most Merciful, then shall ye behold Him. When ye behold Him Who shall resurrect you from your resting-places by His Word—for that is when ye shall behold God in the Ridvan—then wait, for verily ye shall behold.
Part 2: “On the day when God shall manifest…”
On the day when God shall manifest the Manifestation of His Self, on that day all shall be presented before God, your Lord. Those who present themselves before Him Whom God shall make manifest and believe in Him and in what He ordaineth from His presence are equal, whether they know anything or know not, whether they possess anything or not, they are the companions of Paradise and they are the successful ones.
And those who turn away from Him and believe not in God their Lord, and who, when they hear the verses of God, do not prostrate themselves—these are they whom God hath cursed, as hath everything from the beginning that hath no beginning unto the end that hath no end. Fear God, O all things, and believe in Him Whom God shall make manifest. Speak not of God save the truth, for verily your words about Him are your words about Him Whom God shall make manifest, did ye but know.
All that ye know of Me in the Bayan prostrateth itself on the day of His manifestation before Him. Believe in how God maketh Himself known unto you in truth, and receive sustenance from what He sendeth down unto you from His presence. Blessed are they who seek sustenance in what is sent down from their Lord—these are they who are guided. If on the day of His manifestation ye seek sustenance from what ye received before, it shall not suffice you apart from your Lord’s provision. But if ye receive sustenance from what He sendeth down unto you from His presence, then shall it suffice you apart from all provision, O ye who perceive Him.
Should ye possess all things, it would not suffice you apart from Him Whom God shall make manifest, even were ye to attain unto Him while not believing in Him. But should ye attain unto Him while possessing nothing, He would suffice you apart from all things, for ye would then be accounted believers in the sight of God and of those endowed with knowledge. This is God’s bounty which He bestoweth upon whomsoever He willeth of His servants—verily He is possessed of great bounty.
Deem not God to be distant while ye see God near through your own selves. God’s promise is true—it shall come to you while ye read these verses. And verily Him Whom God shall make manifest shall call unto you: “Answer Me, for ye were created through Me.” Yet when ye hear and answer not, then upon whoever heareth His mention but respondeth not to His command shall be the wrath of God in the Bayan until the day they respond, just as those in the Gospel heard Muhammad’s call but answered not God their Lord, and they continue waiting until this time.
And before Jesus, for a thousand years they awaited Moses for five hundred years, then when He came to them with the truth, they believed not. Then Jesus came to them after five hundred years with guidance and clear proofs, yet they believed not. Then Muhammad, the Messenger of God, came to them with the truth and what was revealed to Him from God, yet they believed not in Him. Then the Point of the Bayan came to them, yet they continue waiting until now.
Therefore observe, O people of the Bayan, for after four Dispensations, if ye be like these people and none of power cause you to enter God’s religion, have mercy upon yourselves and perceive your state. For when none caused these people to enter the true religion, four Dispensations passed over them while they continue lying in the fire above their graves. In every Dispensation God loveth that all on earth should seek shelter in His shade. If ye love God, then why do ye not enter God’s religion in every Dispensation? If by your previous entry ye truly desire God, ye would enter again if ye were sincere in your former religion. These are Dispensations after four—that which ye can count and that which ye cannot count from the primal beginning, and before that, how can ye know?
And before that, how would you know? What is wrong with you that whenever there comes to you a Throne of Truth, reciting unto you from God that which would cause you to enter Paradise, you remain patient but do not attain certitude? Be not patient without certitude, and grieve not for anyone. Therefore, earn what you are earning. But you are not patient because you have no certitude, and you transgress your bounds though you were previously steadfast in your religion. Transgress not the bounds of your religion, and await the Cause of God, for verily it will come to you suddenly with the truth while you are sleeping night and day, seeking Him. But when He comes to you, you neither attain certitude nor believe, rendering your souls and deeds void while you perceive it not. Therefore have mercy upon yourselves, then show mercy to others.
Be not like those nations remaining after their Messenger whom you see today upon the earth, for they have debased themselves by not entering into the religion of God and believing not in God their Lord. Rather, be a nation possessed of might for Him Who has ordained your religion for you, by believing in God your Lord—that is, believing in Him Whom God shall make manifest. For if you believe in Him, then you will attain certitude in God’s Covenant in the Bayan. Otherwise, you are like the nations before you—their souls and deeds profit them not, and they know it not.
I commit my cause unto God, my Lord; He suffices me. In Him do I trust, and in God let all who trust place their trust. Thus do I commit unto Him Whom God shall make manifest, for whatever God desires must needs be His desire, and naught appears from God save what is with Him, if you desire God and seek to attain unto Him.
It is as though I see you in my return following martyrs who were created by My Word, while you remain veiled from My Self. If such be your knowledge of Me, how much more of the Letters of the Living, and how much more of those who were created by what was revealed in the Bayan, though we all believe in Him Whom God shall make manifest? If you believe in Him, it shall suffice you above all things, if you but recognize Him. And if you believe not in Him, though you worship God to the utmost possible extent, it shall not suffice you in the least, nor shall it profit you before God your Lord.
Therefore await the Cause of God, for verily God’s promise is the truth wherein there is no doubt. When He comes to you with the truth, you will believe in the signs of God. And recite not the verses which were sent down from God in the Book while you stand before Us, lest anything grieve you while you remember in your standing a gentle word. Then be seated in your places and recite what you love from what was revealed in the Bayan.
