BB00425: Letter to an uncle of the Bab
He is the Most High, the Originator, the Exalted
Praise be to God Who has made known the camphor-like essence of His intrinsic, pure, unique Oneness through mystic knowledge, and Who is sanctified beyond description of all else through His primordial holiness, and Who is exalted above characterization of aught but Him through the glorification of His Self-Subsistence. Glorified and exalted is He! He has ever been, and there was naught else beside Him. He will ever be, and there shall be naught else with Him in existence. Every abstract concept that describes Him is but what He loves, and every essential attribute ascribed to Him is mere falsehood. Glory be unto Thee, O God, O Beloved of those who profess Thy unity and Essence of the Unique One, from being comprehended by the perception of the knowers. I bear witness that there is no God but Thee. Glory be unto Thee!
O God! Send Thy blessings upon Muhammad and his family according to Thy bounty, grace, gift, favor, bestowal, blessings, generosity and glory, and that which none but Thee can encompass in knowledge, through the bounty of the Sovereign of Thy Self-Subsistence and the generosity of the King of Thy Singleness. Verily Thou art God, the Generous, the All-Giving.
O my God! Thou seest my position and knowest all things. Grant us relief, O Lord, through Thy sovereignty and glory, and pour forth upon us patience through the felicity of Thy mercy. Lead me forth with grace and might through the sovereignty of Thy mercy, for in Thy hands lies the kingdom of eternity and in Thy grasp is the thread of all affairs. None has bounty or power save through Thy mercy. Bestow upon us that which will comfort our eyes through the sovereignty of Thy glory. Unite me with the Life-Giver upon the carpet of Thy guidance and protection. Forgive us and make us among Thy successful servants.
I have seen writings in thy hand and praised God for inspiring thee with goodness in His path. Beware, beware of conjecture! After thy prayers, know that God has made thee independent of all things and made the proof expansive. Fear God, for the servant reaches not the holy presence save through steadfastness in this Cause, for it is the foundation from which none can escape and no deed is accepted without it. By My life, guard thine eyes from turbidity. Be content with His good-pleasure, for My pleasure lies in their good-pleasure.
Visit the sacred places even if splendor does not accompany thee. Travel to them so they may dwell in the land of thy residence. If opportunity allows, visit them, for I grieve for them. Convey to my mother all that she desires. Peace be upon thee and upon those mentioned in the book. Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
