BB00498: Khutbata’l-Baladiyya
In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Praise be to God, Who is singular in His grandeur and unique in His bounties, Who has raised up the heaven for the cloud, Who has brought forth radiance for the remembrance of praise, and Who has originated the mystery in this crimson support for His white dawning-place after the rising of the yellow in the setting of the green. The most pure men have spoken in description of this support—the most noble of the Arabs and the greatest of the trustees—concerning the dawning-place of lights in the midst of mysteries, from the command encompassing the point of earth and heaven.
And glorified be God, the Originator of all things and the Possessor of all attributes and names! There is no God but Him. I have commanded something upon Myself, and I have testified in this page to His obedience. I praise Thee, O my God, in the mystery of my being, and I sanctify Thee in the dawning-place of my essence, for there is no God but Thee. God is Most Great!
Therefore, O God, inspire Thy believing servants from among the people of the Gate with the paths of certitude in the outpouring of speech upon the people of the Sacred Place and Station, concerning the sovereignty of the Word in the purpose of Islam, that those who gaze upon those aims may witness, upon the straight line from the All-Knowing King, at the pole of the zone of the Uprising, the standing before the Merciful. Verily Thou art God, the Ancient, possessed of glory and honor. Thy giving is grace and Thy withholding is justice.
Therefore grant unto the writer of this white page the light of oneness in the depths of love, that remembrance may cause him to forget the remembrance of aught else. And inscribe for him his reward in Paradise from the fruit of eternity around this crimson page adorned with the oil of oneness from the blessed eternal Tree. Verily Thou hast ever been powerful over all things, and unto the believers most kind and loving.
And praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds.
