BB00367: Letter to Khal-i-Akbar from Masqat I
In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
Praise be to God Who has sent down the Book in truth wherein are clear verses for people who hear. And verily it is a Book wherein there is no doubt, sent down from the presence of One Mighty, Wise. Follow the decree which We have revealed to you before, for it is indeed the truth which We have sent down in truth by your Lord’s leave upon a mighty, straight path. We have sent you seven verses, clear signs from your Lord’s Book—there is none who can change His words. Read what has been revealed therein that you may be among the successful ones.
And similar to what was written on that page, We had revealed before for you to convey to Solomon who was among the religious leaders of that island, after you see therein the news from the decree of the Book in truth. And God your Lord is Mighty, Powerful. We have revealed therein decrees for the day of gathering. Then you shall see no fear in anything, so do what is commanded and be among the grateful. And if there be no fear in your Lord’s decree, it is prescribed—and God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
And if you are in fear, then do what is necessary in the path of the Cause, for God aids whom He wishes by His decree. And verily there is no God but He, the Mighty, the Powerful. God has prescribed mercy upon Himself that We shall surely gather all on a day wherein there is no doubt. Then He will judge between them with justice, and there shall be no injustice that day, and God your Lord is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
And if your Lord’s decree permits entry to that island, it is prescribed that you inform the people of the mention of your Lord’s name clearly, for God has forbidden in the Book that anyone enter except by My permission—and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise. This is a decree from Me when the Name appears among the people. And if most people do not know My decree, then act with reconciliation in your Lord’s path, for I am the Most High, the All-Wise.
But aid the word of your Lord and fear no one in God’s path, for God your Lord will surely reward the truthful with a fitting reward. And I see by God’s power not an atom’s weight of fear in myself, and I find all creation beside God’s decree to be less than that—and God is All-Aware, All-Knowing. And if fear is seen from myself, I shall be patient and all depends on God, for God has revealed in the Qur’an the decree of worship—and verily there is no God but He, the Mighty, the All-Wise.
God has ordained for the most exalted:
“I and My Messengers—there is no God but He—all shall fear Him.”
Convey the letter which I have revealed beside this page of yours to Solomon if you see reconciliation therein—and God is Witness over what I say. And if you do not see reconciliation in his words, then send it to whomever you wish among the learned ones—and God is Witness over all things. Know your Lord’s decree and fear no one, and be patient with what has been revealed to you from His presence, for verily there is no God but He, the Mighty, the Powerful.
And say: Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.
O Guardian, exalted be His mighty utterance, in the port of Bushehr for the late Shaykh, his eminence of noble lineage, the most noble Hajj Sahib Haji Mirza Siyyid Muhammad, merchant of Shiraz, may his exalted life endure.42 Written by Mirza Baqir
