BB00356: Letter to Muhammad Karim Khan Kirmani

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Alif. Lam. Mim. The mention of thy Lord to the Crimson Leaf on the right of the White Sea. There is no God but Him. Say: Therefore bring Me forth! Read the Book of thy Lord, then prostrate thyself before His Cause, for verily there is no God but Him. Say: Therefore bear ye witness unto Me! God beareth witness that there is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Ancient.

God hath testified in this Book, then unto His creation, as God hath desired for His servant, that there is no God but Him, the Mighty, the All-Knowing. We have indeed sent down aforetime a Book to all who dwell on earth, saying: Enter ye the Gate, prostrating, that ye might prosper. Verily those who follow Our verses with justice, these are they who shall be foremost. And those who follow their own desires, these are they who are the wrongdoers. And verily one verse from Our verses equalleth in the Book of God the verses of the ancients and all that followed thereafter. All creation shall be questioned concerning the proofs of God.

Should all mankind gather together to produce the like of this Book which We have sent down unto thee, they would never be able, nor would they have the power, even if the jinn were to aid them manifold. And God is Strong, All-Wise. O Muhammad, O thou noble one! Follow thou the decree of thy Lord, then go forth unto the Covenant of the Remnant of God, the manifest Imam of Justice. He it is in Whose hand lies the dominion of all things, and naught escapeth His knowledge, and verily He is the servant of God in a preserved Book.

And verily today it is obligatory upon all who dwell on earth, from its west to its east, to leave their homes, emigrating to the Land of the Remembrance, by the decree of the Remnant of God, the great living Imam. Verily those who pledge allegiance unto God—the Hand of God is above all things, and verily there is no God but Him, the Strong, the Praiseworthy.

We have indeed enjoined in the Book of Kings that ye should mention the remembrance of God after the mention of the Remnant of God in the Call to Prayer, for verily He is upon the path of God in every preserved tablet. Raise thou up this decree openly and go forth thyself with those who follow thee in the Cause upon strong steeds with complete equipment before thy glance returneth unto thee. And verily He is the Mighty, the Great.

We have indeed favored thee with thy Lord’s decree before the people, that thou mightest be of the helpers. Go forth from thy house and call the people unto the pure religion, and send forth the like of this Book to the regions of the earth on thy right and left. Fear thou no one in the path of thy Lord, for this is God’s favor upon thee, and God is the All-Knowing Witness. This Book sufficeth as a proof.

Make mention of the name of thy Lord unto all who are in the heavens and who are on earth, and God is the All-Informed, the All-Knowing. And if He so desired, We would send down in every letter the like of the verses of the Qur’an, and God is Strong, Mighty. Glory be unto God, thy Lord, the Lord of the Throne, above what they describe. And peace be upon the emigrants, and praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
