BB00269: Letter to Mirza Hasan-i-Khurasani
In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Read thou the Book of the remembrance of the name of thy Lord, beside Whom there is no other God, the Most Exalted, the All-Wise. Verily it is a Book sent down from the presence of the Remnant of God, the manifest and righteous Leader. This decree, concerning which there is no doubt, hath been sent down from the presence of the Exalted, the All-Wise. He is the Truth in the heavens and on earth, reciting unto thee the Book of thy Lord from the decree of the Balance which thou hast been given. This is thy Lord’s path in the heavens and on earth, calling mankind unto a mighty and praiseworthy path. Whoso heareth but a single letter of these wondrous verses, his deeds shall not be accepted unless he believeth in the verses of thy Lord and is numbered among those who prostrate themselves.
Verily this verse which We now reveal unto thee is equal to the verses of the ancients. After this all creation shall be questioned concerning the Remnant of God. This Book sufficeth as a proof of the Remembrance unto all who dwell on earth. Were God to reveal but a single verse of the Qur’an, none hath the right to utter a word concerning it, and We make no distinction regarding God’s decree—all are worshippers of the Book’s decree.
We have indeed tried mankind with truth even as We tried those who came before them. All have received their portion from the Book and all shall be gathered unto God. Those who follow God’s verses and migrate to the Holy Land—these are they who are rightly guided. Those who deny Our verses and follow their own desires—the word of torment hath been fulfilled against them, yet they perceive it not.
O ye company who follow Me in truth, rejoice in the Spirit from My presence, for this is the great triumph. God, your Lord, the Most Merciful, hath inscribed your names on the Tablet of the Throne, and this indeed is the supreme victory. Say: O people, draw nigh unto Him Who is established upon the Throne in the Most Great Sanctuary, then go forth according to God’s decree and enter the Land of Safety all together, that ye may be numbered among the triumphant.
It is written: O thou noble, intelligent, virtuous and pious master! Call the people unto justice and convey the decree of this Book unto those in that land and its surroundings, that those who perish may perish with clear proof, and those who survive may survive through the ancient verse. Thy Lord God is indeed the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
As for those who fabricate lies against God saying that the Remembrance of thy Lord’s name taketh what He willeth from the words of the Qur’an, say: Glory be to God! Were God to permit His servant, He could reveal in every letter the like of the Qur’an, for thy Lord God is indeed the Powerful, the Mighty.
Follow thou the decree of divine revelation and convey this Book unto those who dwell along the ways, that they might remember God’s verses and be numbered among the guided ones. Know that the sea routes are narrow—We love not that our followers should travel by sea; better the land route. Say: What God willeth shall come to pass; there is no power save in God. In His hand is all authority; there is no God but Him, the Self-Sufficient, the Loving.
If thou fearest not the decree of Baghdad, then strive in thy Lord’s ways with wisdom and decisive verses for those learned deniers who dwell therein, that they might remember God’s command and be numbered among those who submit. O people! How do ye judge falsely concerning Our servant who hath come to you with clear verses according to the decree of the Qur’an, after ye yourselves believed in God’s decree with certitude? Be ye patient, for the Day of Judgment will come in truth; and We shall assuredly judge, by the leave of thy Lord, between the people. On that Day not even the weight of an atom shall be wronged. And God, verily, is the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing.
Fear God, O concourse of men, then present yourselves before God. If ye are able to produce the like of this Book—to you be your religion and to Me be God’s religion, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy. And if ye are unable—and ye shall never be able, even if all were to assist you, ye shall never be able—then turn away from that which is false and enter the Gate, prostrating yourselves, that ye might prosper. And if ye do not, then be content with God’s judgment in the Qur’an and ask God of His justice through the Messenger, that God may send down chastisement upon him who hath denied and was among the wrongdoers. And by that decree hath God’s Cause been furthered along the path. Fear no one in the days of thy Lord, for this is God’s favor upon thee, and verily if thou diest or art slain, unto God shalt thou be gathered.
Warn that soul who hath denied the verses of his Lord and followed his own desires and was among the corrupt ones.
Convey the greetings of the remembrance of thy Lord’s name to those who have gone before. Tell them to migrate to the Holy Land that they may be among the triumphant. Send forth such a book as this to those who have followed Our Cause and were among the assured ones. And if any among you is obliged to study in the house of the Gate of God, who was sent forth from Our verses, that is indeed a mighty wisdom.
O uncle! Read thou this Book and be patient until thou attainest what thou desirest of life, then depart to thy land, for thou art, according to the decree of the Book, among those who are secure, as it is written. Say: Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
